myViewBoard for Windows is a digital whiteboard solution designed specifically to run on the Windows operating system. myViewBoard for Windows is optimized for interactive displays, but will also run on non-interactive screens, with mouse clicks replacing touch events for interaction. Integration with allows unlimited users to share screens, as well as cast-in and out from anywhere in the world. myViewBoard for Windows also lets users write, highlight, edit, and transform documents and images on-screen in real-time, leveraging interactive displays to create more engaging presentations.

Sign Up for a myViewBoard Account

To get the most out of myViewBoard, users need to create a complimentary myViewBoard account at Note that myViewBoard for Windows can still be used without signing in. However, some features will be unavailable.

First select Get started from the top-right of the myViewBoard homepage.

On the next screen there are the following options to sign up:

Sign up with an existing Google, Apple or Microsoft account:

  1. Click one of the following:
      Sign in with Google
      Sign in with Microsoft
      Sign in with Apple
  2. On the next window, grant permission for myViewBoard to access the account.

Sign up using a regular email:

  1. On the myViewBoard sign up page, enter the following:
    • Unique myViewBoard name
    • Email
    • Password
  2. Select the checkbox to comply with myViewBoard terms of service and privacy policy agreement.
  3. Click Sign Up.

After successfully signing-up:

  1. An activation email will be sent to the account. Click the link in the activation email.
  2. After activation, sign in and set up the new myViewBoard account.
  3. On first sign in, prompts the user to update the user's Personal Profile and Account Name.

Sign In to myViewBoard for Windows

Launch Whiteboard and sign in with the same Google account, Microsoft account, Apple account, or email account you used for

The sign-in panel appears in the bottom-right of the screen. If it is hidden, click   to show the sign in panel.

Sign in with your email

  1. Provide your email and password.
  2. Click .

Sign in with your Google, Microsoft, or Apple account

  1. Click one of the following:
    • Sign in with   Google
    • Sign in with   Microsoft
    • Sign in with   Apple
  2. Provide your email and password and follow the instructions to log in.

Sign in via Companion App with QR Code

  1. Launch the Companion   on your mobile device (with internet access).
  2. Sign in using an email address.
  3. Click the QR Code icon to open the phone's camera.
  4. Position the phone so that the QR code displayed on the Whiteboard for Windows/Android program is inside the QR code scanner of the companion app.

If you signed up with a Google or Microsoft account and you need to use the Companion App:

  1. Go to
  2. Click your avatar and click Change Password.
  3. Specify a password and click Confirm.
  4. Sign in using the Companion.

The myViewBoard for Windows working area is divided into the following areas.

Main Toolbar Overview

The toolbar contains tools that allow users to add annotations to the Whiteboard canvas area. This toolbar is always fixed to the right, left or bottom side of the program window. The appearance of icons in the toolbar varies depending on the selected theme.

Whiteboard for Windows and Android include the following icons in the main toolbar:

Click to use the Whiteboard tools over Windows OS
this is only available in Whiteboard for Windows.
Enable and manage wireless presentations and video conferencing
this is only available in Whiteboard for Windows.
Screenshot, video, and audio recording.
Click and drag to move toolbar to the side or bottom of the screen.
Open, save, export, and print Whiteboard files.
Many tools for adding interactivity, web content, and quizzes.
Opens the built-in browser to access internet resources. Text and images from the browser can be dragged onto the canvas.
Drag to move the canvas. Use two hands to zoom in/out. Click again to open the infinite canvas overview.
Select objects, text, and other elements on the canvas.
Draw freehand lines. Click twice for more options, like AI Pen.
Erase objects. Click twice for more options.
Draw shapes, arrows, and add tables. Click twice for more options.
Add a textbox. Click twice to switch to handwriting recognition.
Undo (current page).
Redo (current page).

Floating Toolbar Overview

In addition to the main toolbar which is fixed to either the sides or bottom of the screen, Whiteboard also has a floating toolbar.
This can be moved around the whiteboard freely, by dragging the move toolbar icon  .

Whiteboard for Windows and Android include the following icons in the main toolbar:

Click and drag to move toolbar to the side or bottom of the screen.
Switch to fullscreen mode, hiding the Windows task bar and title bar. You can still draw and edit the Whiteboard.
Paste content onto the canvas. Supports text and most filetypes.
Move to the previous page.
Move to the next page.
Add a new page.
Create, select, rearrange, copy, and delete pages.
Sets the language used by the Live Captions feature1.
Displays spoken text as captions during presentation mode1.

Title Bar Overview

The title bar appears at the topmost section of the myViewBoard program. If logged in, the title bar acts like a toolbar and provides access to the following options:

User info
User account currently logged in. Click to display a QR code that users can use to interact with the session.
Cloud storage
Indicates which cloud storage service provider is enabled. For more information, see Bind your cloud storage account to myViewBoard.
Wireless Presentation
Indicates if Wireless Presentation is enabled. To manage casting for the current session, see Wireless Presentation.
Lists events logged during the current myViewBoard session
Shows help contents. For more information, see Configure Whiteboard Settings.
Opens the settings window. For more information, see Configure Whiteboard Settings.
Minimize the myViewBoard application window to the Windows taskbar
Maximize the myViewBoard application window to occupy the whole screen
Restores the window to the last known size before the maximize button was used
Quits the current session and closes the myViewBoard application window

Customize the myViewBoard Canvas

Change the background by clicking the   icon in the bottom left of the screen. You can import images from local and cloud storage, use myViewBoard custom backgrounds, or set a solid color.

myViewBoard also provides free content for educators to use, accessible from the background management pop-out window. myViewBoard Originals are regularly updated and are also accessible from this page on the wiki.

FollowMe Images
Displays custom images uploaded to your cloud storage account.
Color Palette
Sets a solid or gradient color as the background.
Displays backgrounds that come pre-installed with Whiteboard.
myViewBoard Originals
Displays original backgrounds created by myViewBoard.
Local hard drive
Use images from the user's hard drive.
Select Image
Select images from the local hard drive to use as background.
It is recommended that selected images match your screen's resolution.

There are also the following options for overlays to the background (can be applied in addition to backgrounds):

Displays a grid over the canvas. The color of the grid changes depending on the background color.
Displays a 'confidential' watermark. The watermark may not be visible on certain background colors.
Date Time
Displays the current date and time in the top right of the canvas.
Click the icon to show or hide the date and time.

Adding Custom Backgrounds

Use Custom Images in myViewBoard for Windows

myViewBoard comes preloaded with a default set of backgrounds. However, users can customize the background using their own images.

You can upload custom images for the background and pen in Whiteboard. Users need to have a cloud storage account bound to their myViewBoard account to use their own images.

Bind your cloud storage account to myViewBoard

  1. Sign in to
  2. Click your avatar, and select FollowMe from the drop down.
  3. Click Cloud Integration on the side panel.
  4. On the Cloud Integration screen, select the cloud storage account you want to bind.
  5. Sign in to your account and allow myViewBoard to access your account.

After binding, a new folder named myViewBoard is created at the root directory of your cloud storage account.

Repeat this process for all cloud storage accounts to bind. By default, the first bound account becomes the default storage account. Contents of all bound storage accounts can be accessed via the Magic Box.

Upload your own images for backgrounds, magic line pens, and shape pens

  1. Sign in to
  2. Click your avatar, and select FollowMe from the drop down.
  3. Under Settings, ensure that myViewBoard default theme is not selected.
  4. Under Cloud Integration, ensure that the correct cloud storage account is selected as the default.
  5. Under Backgrounds:
    1. Select from linked cloud storage, myViewBoard Originals, or Education preset images to set as the default background (applied to Whiteboard when signed in).
  6. Under Magic Line Pens, and Shape Pens:
    1. Click Update Files to open the relevant folder in your cloud storage.
    2. You can upload PNG and JPG images to this folder.
    3. Back in the previous Magic Line Pens, or Shape Pens settings pages, you can now select default images that will be applied to Whiteboard when signed in to your myViewBoard account.

Images must meet the following dimensions:
Background Any resolution, but 3840 x 2160 (4k resolution) is recommended
Magic Line Pen Should be at least 96 x 96 pixels. Images are tiled to fill the space.
Shape Pen 96 x 96 pixels, all pen images are scaled to this resolution

In Whiteboard

  1. After updating the settings on the myViewBoard website, sign in to Whiteboard for Windows/Android
  2. Select the new backgrounds, magic line pens, and shape pens:
    Click the Background menu icon and select your custom background.
    Click the Pen icon and select your custom magic line pens and shape pens.
  3. Start using the backgrounds, magic line pens, and shape pens.
