myViewBoard for Windows Quick Start Guide
myViewBoard for Windows is a digital whiteboard solution designed specifically to run on the Windows operating system. myViewBoard for Windows is optimized for interactive displays, but will also run on non-interactive screens, with mouse clicks replacing touch events for interaction. Integration with myViewBoard.com allows unlimited users to share screens, as well as cast-in and out from anywhere in the world. myViewBoard for Windows also lets users write, highlight, edit, and transform documents and images on-screen in real-time, leveraging interactive displays to create more engaging presentations.
Sign Up for a myViewBoard Account
To get the most out of myViewBoard, users need to create a complimentary myViewBoard account at http://www.myviewboard.com. Note that myViewBoard for Windows can still be used without signing in. However, some features will be unavailable.
Sign In to myViewBoard for Windows
Launch Whiteboard and sign in with the same Google account, Microsoft account, Apple account, or email account you used for myViewBoard.com.
The sign-in panel appears in the bottom-right of the screen. If it is hidden, click to show the sign in panel.
Sign in with your email
- Provide your email and password.
- Click .
Sign in with your Google, Microsoft, or Apple account
- Click one of the following:

- Provide your email and password and follow the instructions to log in.
Sign in via Companion App with QR Code
- Launch the Companion App
on your mobile device (with internet access).
- Sign in using an email address.
- Click the QR Code icon to open the phone's camera.
- Position the phone so that the QR code displayed on the Whiteboard for Windows/Android program is inside the QR code scanner of the companion app.
If you signed up with a Google or Microsoft account and you need to use the Companion App :
- Go to http://myViewBoard.com.
- Click your avatar and click
Change Password
. - Specify a password and click
Confirm
. - Sign in using the Companion.
myViewBoard for Windows User Interface
myViewBoard for Windows displays the following user interface when in use:
The myViewBoard for Windows working area is divided into the following areas.
Main Toolbar Overview
The toolbar contains tools that allow users to add annotations to the Whiteboard canvas area. This toolbar is always fixed to the right, left or bottom side of the program window. The appearance of icons in the toolbar varies depending on the selected theme.
Whiteboard for Windows and Android include the following icons in the main toolbar:

this is only available in Whiteboard for Windows.


Floating Toolbar Overview
In addition to the main toolbar which is fixed to either the sides or bottom of the screen, Whiteboard also has a floating toolbar.
This can be moved around the whiteboard freely, by dragging the move toolbar icon .
Whiteboard for Windows, Android, and iOS include the following icons in the main toolbar:

Shortcut tray (Windows only)
A shortcut tray is also available within the floating toolbar. This is a Whiteboard for Windows-only feature and can be accessed after sign-in. Once tools are added to the tray, they will save to your account and be available every time you sign in.

Title Bar Overview
The title bar appears at the topmost section of the myViewBoard program. If logged in, the title bar acts like a toolbar and provides access to the following options:








Customize the myViewBoard Canvas
Change the background by clicking the icon in the bottom left of the screen. You can import images from local and cloud storage, use myViewBoard custom backgrounds, or set a solid color.
myViewBoard also provides free content for educators to use, accessible from the background management pop-out window. ViewSonic Originals are regularly updated and are also accessible from this page.

Displays custom images uploaded to your cloud storage account.

Sets a solid or gradient color as the background.

Displays backgrounds that come pre-installed with Whiteboard.

Use images from the user's hard drive.

Select images from the local hard drive to use as background.
It is recommended that selected images match your screen's resolution.
There are also the following options for overlays to the background (can be applied in addition to backgrounds):

Displays a grid over the canvas. The color of the grid changes depending on the background color.

Displays a 'confidential' watermark. The watermark may not be visible on certain background colors.

Displays the current date and time in the top right of the canvas.
Click the icon to show or hide the date and time.

Adding Custom Backgrounds
Use Custom Images in myViewBoard for Windows
myViewBoard comes preloaded with a default set of backgrounds. However, users can customize the background using their own images.
You can upload custom images for the background and pen in Whiteboard. Users need to have a cloud storage account bound to their myViewBoard account to use their own images.
Bind your cloud storage account to myViewBoard
- Sign in to http://www.myViewBoard.com.
- Click your avatar, and select FollowMe from the drop-down.
- Click Cloud Integration on the side panel.
- On the Cloud Integration screen, select the cloud storage account you want to bind.
- Sign in to your account and allow myViewBoard to access your account.
After binding, a new folder named myViewBoard is created in the root directory of your cloud storage account. This is where session QR shares and backgrounds are stored, among other files.
Repeat this process for all cloud storage accounts you wish to bind. By default, the first bound account becomes the default storage account.
Content in all bound storage accounts can be accessed via the Magic Box.
Upload your own images for backgrounds, magic line pens, and shape pens
- Sign in to http://www.myviewboard.com.
- Click your avatar, and select FollowMe from the drop down.
- Under Settings, ensure that myViewBoard default theme is not selected.
- Under Cloud Integration, ensure that the correct cloud storage account is selected as the default.
- Under Backgrounds:
- Select from linked cloud storage, myViewBoard Originals, or Education preset images to set as the default background (applied to Whiteboard when signed in).
- Under Magic Line Pens, and Shape Pens:
- Click Update Files to open the relevant folder in your cloud storage.
- You can upload PNG and JPG images to this folder.
- Back in the previous Magic Line Pens, or Shape Pens settings pages, you can now select default images that will be applied to Whiteboard when signed in to your myViewBoard account.
- Images must meet the following dimensions:
Background Any resolution, but 3840 x 2160 (4k resolution) is recommended Magic Line Pen Should be at least 96 x 96 pixels. Images are tiled to fill the space. Shape Pen 96 x 96 pixels, all pen images are scaled to this resolution
In Whiteboard
- After updating the settings on the myViewBoard website, sign in to Whiteboard for Windows/Android
- Select the new backgrounds, magic line pens, and shape pens:
Click the Background menu icon and select your custom background. Click the Pen icon and select your custom magic line pens and shape pens. - Start using the backgrounds, magic line pens, and shape pens.
