myViewBoard Live is a free Android app for livestreaming to:

myViewBoard Live can be used to livestream during other apps, such as Whiteboard for Android. For recording Android devices without livestreaming, there is Icon Recorder.svg myViewBoard Record.


Download Live

myViewBoard Live is available from the Google-play-icon.svg Google Play store, or there is a direct download link for the APK file here (download will start immediately).
If you are using a ViewSonic ViewBoard or a myViewBoard Box, you may already have Live preinstalled on your device.


System requirements

  • Android 5.0 or higher.
  • At least 100 MB of free space.
  • At least 4 Mbps network upload speed.
  • If prompted, grant permissions to the myViewBoard Live app to record audio and display over other apps (click here for a guide).


Livestream from your Android device

You will need a stream URL and a stream key to begin livestreaming. The stream URL is automatically shown after selecting the streaming service in myViewBoard Live. You will need to get the stream key from the streaming service you choose - either YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, or Workplace.



Get a YouTube stream key and URL

On YouTube
You must first have verified your YouTube account to begin livestream.

  1. Open your browser and sign in to https://YouTube.com
  2. Once signed in, click on the upper right corner.
  3. From the drop down, click Go Live.
  4. On top of the next screen, select STREAM. If prompted, click ENABLE and verify your phone number.
  5. On the new Window, provide following information:
    • Title
    • Publish Option (Public, Unlisted or Private)
    • Audience Options
    • Optional
    - Description
    - Category
    - Schedule for later
    - Upload Custom Thumbnail
    - Age restriction
  6. Click Create Stream.
  7. After a few seconds, YouTube provides a unique stream key and the stream URL. Read the instructions provided on the Stream setup help dialog.

Get a Facebook stream key and URL

On Facebook
Before starting to stream, you need to know your stream key and the stream URL first. This is provided by Facebook.

  1. Log in into your Twitch account.
  2. Click your username to the upper right of the page.
  3. Select Dashboard from the menu, then head to the Settings section.
  4. Click the 'Stream Key' link.
  5. Click the 'Show key' button followed by 'I understand'.
  6. Note the Stream Key shown.

After getting the the stream key and URL, setup the streaming service to receive session information from myViewBoard Live. For instructions on how to do this, refer to your streaming services help documentation since this procedure varies between providers.

Once the setup is complete, perform the following:


On the myViewBoard Live app

  1. Launch the myViewBoard Live app.
  2. Input the required information.
  3. (Optional) Select the "Record the stream" checkbox to record a copy of the stream to your device.
  4. Tap to start the stream.


On the dashboard of your selected streaming service

  1. Head back to the dashboard page of your selected service to verify that it is able to successfully receive the stream.
  2. Present your lesson as usual.
  3. To stop the stream, locate and click the 'End Stream' button on the dashboard of your selected service.


Viewing the stream after the session

  • Livestreams are usually automatically saved for future viewing.
  • In myViewBoard Live, selecting the 'Record the stream' checkbox before streaming saves a recording of the stream to the local device. This can then be uploaded to a cloud drive account and be distributed to your students.
