myViewBoard Display for Android turns any display device running Android 6 into a wireless display, that can shared to with only a code and password via myviewboard.com/display/. Display comes preinstalled on ViewBoards and myViewBoard Box, but can also be downloaded for free from https://myviewboard.com/download/ for Android devices, and from the Amazon app store.
There is also a version for Windows OS.
System requirements
For installing Display
- OS: Android 6 or higher
- Network: 10 Mbps; a wired connection is preferred
- Must have open access to the public internet
- User must have rights to be able to install apps
Installing Display on Amazon Fire devices
- Display is supported on all Amazon Fire TV devices including Fire TV Cube.
- The app is less than 30 MB.
- Network: 10 Mbps; a wired connection is preferred.

For sharing to Display
- OS: Windows 10, MacOS, iOS, Android or ChromeOS
- Browser: latest version of Google Chrome, Chromium or Microsoft Edge. Safari is not supported.
- Network: stable 25 Mbps, wired ethernet connection recommended where possible
Network ports
- TCP Port 443 (HTTPS) outbound
- UDP and TCP port 3478 bidirectional to the WebRTC servers
- UDP Ports 50,000 – 65,535 (RTP/sRTP/RTCP) bidirectional to the WebRTC servers
These ports are optional. If blocked, media will be proxied using TURN on port 3478.
Download myViewBoard Display for Android
Download Display for Android from myviewboard.com/download. The file is under 30 MB.
If using a ViewBoard, you may already have Display installed - check in the Android app tray (see image in next section).
Open Display
Open myViewBoard Display in the same way any app is opened. On the home screen or app tray, click or tap on the Display icon to open. If the device is connected to the internet, once loaded Display should show a Display code and One Time Password.
- First make sure myViewBoard Display is open on the device you want to share your screen to (see above).
- On the device you want to share the screen from, go to myviewboard.com/display.
- Enter the Display Code and One Time Password for the device you wish to share to. Note that the password refreshes every 30 seconds.
Troubleshooting
If you have issues connecting, check the following:
- Both the device and the connecting desktop have a stable network connection.
- Check if the One Time Password has expired, and enter the new one if it has.
- myViewBoard Display for Windows supports 1:1 mirroring. This means that each session must be between one device and one client only.
WebRTC is a method used by Display and other apps to share video. Most browsers support WebRTC however you can also run the WebRTC testing tool to check: https://myviewboard.com/cast2/test/index.html
Step 1: open a web browser on the device and run this tool to check webRTC status https://myviewboard.com/cast2/test/index.html
- if it shows at least 1 green line, this means webRTC network is fine;
- if it shows 3 yellow lines, webRTC network is blocked and has an issue.
Step 2: open the same link on the user side (device sharing the screen)
- if it shows at least 1 green line, this means webRTC network is fine.
- if it shows 3 yellow lines, webRTC network is blocked and has an issue.
In other words, both step 1 & 2 need to have at least 1 green line to have a healthy webRTC connection. One green line for receiving and another green line for sending the screen sharing.
