System Requirements
Before installation, verify that the device meets the following requirements:
- Android devices must be running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher.
- Apple devices must be running iOS 9 or higher.
Download and Install
To install the app via the app store of your mobile device:
- Go to the Google Play or Apple store app on your mobile device.
- Search for the myViewBoard Companion app.
- Click Install.

The myViewBoard.com web site also provides links to download the myViewBoard Companion app:
- Go to http://myViewBoard.com.
- Click Downloads.
- Depending on your device, click Companion on Google play or Companion on Apple Store link.
- Using a QR code reader app, take a picture of the QR code to get the download link.
- Open the download link to go to the correct download page of your device's app store.
- Click Install, and wait for the installation to complete.

Notable Features
Sign in with QR Code
Use the QR code feature of the myViewBoard Companion app to sign in on the myViewBoard for Windows or Android program.
- Launch the myViewBoard Companion app on your mobile device.
- Sign in using an email address.
- Click the icon beside the user avatar to change it into a QR code icon.
- Click the QR Code icon to open the phone's camera.
- Position the phone so that the QR code displayed on the myViewBoard for Windows or Android program is inside the QR 'scanner' of the myViewBoard Companion app.
Throw and Pop Quiz
Sign in is not required to use the Throw or Pop Quiz feature. Before using these features, ensure that the target myViewBoard session is already active.
- Click the Throw or Pop Quiz icon.
- Depending on the feature you selected, perform one of the following:
- For Throw: select an image or video to throw, and click the icon.
- For Pop Quiz: Use the pen tool to draw your answer, and click the icon.
- On the next screen, provide the following information:
- Host Name. Name of the myViewBoard session you are throwing to. This should be provided by the user hosting the myViewBoard session.
- Your Name. Name that identifies you as the sender of this object.
- Click the icon.
If successful, the myViewBoard host should receive a notification.
Sharing
Installing the app also adds the Throw feature as a sharing option. To use on your mobile phone:
- On any app that is capable of performing the "share" action, click Share, or the icon if available.
- From the list of apps, select Companion.
- On the next screen, provide the following information:
- Host Name. Name of the myViewBoard session you are throwing to. This should be provided by the user hosting the myViewBoard session.
- Your Name. Name that identifies you as the sender of this object.
- Click the icon.
myViewBoard Management
The Companion app provides options for managing ongoing myViewBoard cast sessions.
myViewBoard Settings
The Companion app allows users to configure some myViewBoard settings.
Auto log out time | How long before the session automatically logs out |
Show time | Display the current time on the canvas of the current session |
Show grid | Display a grid as the canvas background of the current session |
Show watermark | Display a Confidential watermark as the canvas background of the current session

Always enable casting | Casting for the logged in account is automatically enabled for every session. |
