The myViewBoard Companion App provides a means to control various actions on the canvas using a mobile phone.

Download and Installation

To install the app via the app store of your mobile device:

  1. Go to the Google Play or Apple store app on your mobile device.
  2. Search for the myViewBoard Companion app.
  3. Click Install.

The myViewBoard.com web site also provides links to download the myViewBoard Companion app:

  1. Go to http://myViewBoard.com.
  2. Click Downloads.
  3. Depending on your device, click Companion on Google play or Companion on Apple Store link.
  4. Using a QR code reader app, take a picture of the QR code to get the download link.
  5. Open the download link to go to the correct download page of your device's app store.
  6. Click Install, and wait for the installation to complete.

Companion App User Interface

After installation, tap on the myViewBoard Companion app icon.

  • Sign in to your myViewBoard account using the email address and password you provided during sign up.
  • If you haven't signed up yet, click Sign Up to open the myViewBoard.com page where you can sign up for a new account.

If you signed up with a Google or Microsoft account and you need to use the Companion App, you need to create a separate sign in password:

  1. Go to http://myViewBoard.com, and sign in.
  2. Click your avatar, and click Change Password.
  3. Specify a password, and click Confirm.
  4. Afterwards, open the Companion App and sign in using the new password.

After signing in, the myViewBoard Companion app displays the following interface:

Note that the black icon (pen on board) only appears for admin entity accounts.


Sign in with QR Code

Use the QR code feature of the myViewBoard Companion App to sign in on the myViewBoard for Windows or Android program.

  1. Launch the myViewBoard Companion App on your mobile device.
  2. Sign in using an email address.
  3. Click the

  4. Click the QR Code icon to open the phone's camera.
  5. Position the phone so that the QR code displayed on the myViewBoard for Windows or Android program is inside the QR 'scanner' of the companion app.


myViewBoard Interaction

These options provide access to features related to interaction with other myViewBoard sessions. This is the default screen displayed when opening the companion app.

Cast Interaction
Options to send objects and answers to a myViewBoard session
Throw
Sends an object to the myViewBoard host specified.
This feature is available even without signing in.

Pop Quiz
Sends a response to a Pop Quiz.
This feature is available even without signing in.


Sign in is not required to use the Throw or Pop Quiz feature. Before using these features, ensure that the target myViewBoard session is already active.

  1. Click the Throw or Pop Quiz icon.
  2. Depending on the feature you selected, perform one of the following:
    • For Throw: select an image or video to throw, and click the icon.
    • For Pop Quiz: Use the pen tool to draw your answer, and click the icon.
  3. On the next screen, provide the following information:
    • Host Name. Name of the myViewBoard session you are throwing to. This should be provided by the user hosting the myViewBoard session.
    • Your Name. Name that identifies you as the sender of this object.
  4. Click the icon.

If successful, the myViewBoard host should receive a notification.

These options are for configuring myViewBoard settings.

This tab contains the following settings:

Auto log out time How long before the session automatically logs out
Show time Display the current time on the canvas of the current session
Show grid Display a grid as the canvas background of the current session
Show watermark Display a Confidential watermark as the canvas background of the current session
Always enable casting Casting for the logged in account is automatically enabled for every session.
