In Whiteboard for Windows, Whiteboard online and Classroom use the YouTube search from the Magic Box to easily add videos without leaving the app.
Add YouTube videos in Whiteboard for Windows
To insert YouTube videos in Whiteboard for Windows:
- Click the
Magic Box icon on the main toolbar.
- Click the
YouTube icon to open the search window.
- Search for a video.
- To preview the video before selecting, click the video to play it directly in the search results window.
- Double-click a video from the search results, or drag the video out to the canvas.
Videos are added in a window, which can be resized or displayed full screen.
To play, simply click the video. Saving the canvas also saves the video with the canvas.
Alternatively, you can also do the following:

Note: some videos on YouTube have been restricted to play only in web browsers, which means they are not playable in the Magic Box YouTube feature. These videos are still accessible from the Embedded browser.
Add YouTube videos in Whiteboard online
To insert YouTube videos in an online session:
- Click the
Magic Box icon on the main toolbar
- Click the
YouTube icon to open the search window.
- Search for a video.
- Double-click a video from the search results, or drag the video out to the canvas.
Videos are added in a window, which can be resized or displayed full screen.
Videos won't play when you're in edit mode. In order to play videos:
- Select
presentation mode or play mode.
- Once that's selected, you can play your videos.
