Whiteboard for Windows

This page is a guide for installing Whiteboard for Windows.

System requirements

Recommended specifications

  • Processor: Intel Core i7 x86 CPU with clock rate over 3.6 GHz
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • OS System: Windows 10 Pro 64 bits
  • Disk drive: SSD
  • Bandwidth: 25 Mbps or higher; a wired connection is preferred
  • Touch Display: ViewSonic ViewBoard®
  • Other software required: .NET 4.7.2


Minimum requirements

  • Processor: Intel Core i3 x86 CPU with clock rate over 3.2 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • OS System: Windows 10 Home 64 bits
  • Disk drive: HDD / SSD
  • Bandwidth: 25 Mbps; a wired connection is preferred
  • Other software required: .NET 4.7.2


For devices that will interact with Whiteboard for Windows1:

  • Operating system: Windows 10, MacOS, ChromeOS
  • Bandwidth: 25 Mbps
  • One of the following browsers:
  • Latest version of Google Chrome [1]
  • Latest version of Microsoft Edge [2]

1For example, this applies to students interacting with the host whiteboard by watching the Wireless Presentation, or using features from myviewboard.com such as Throw.

How to download and install Whiteboard for Windows

Download

  1. Go to myviewboard.com.
    • If already signed in, on the top menu click Download myViewBoard applications. A new window should open.
      • Click the download link for the Whiteboard for Windows installer.
    • If not signed in, click Downloads in the top menu. On the new page, select Whiteboard for Windows and then Download for Windows 64 bit.
  2. Save the file to your local drive.

Install

  1. Double click the installation file.
  2. On the myViewBoard Whiteboard Setup window, click Next.
  3. Click Install (requires admin rights).
  4. If prompted on a separate window, click Yes to allow the app to make changes to your device.
  5. When the installation is complete, click Finish.


About signing in: It is not necessary to sign in to access Whiteboard for Windows. However, various features will only be available after signing in. To find out more, view the details of our account plans.
About activation:
  • Activation is no longer required as of v2.59.1.0 of Whiteboard for Windows. Simply launch Whiteboard after installation, sign in, and access the features available to your subscription tier.
