This page explains how to install myViewBoard Whiteboard for Android.

Using a ViewSonic ViewBoard or myViewBoard Box?

If you're using a ViewSonic ViewBoard IFP or a myViewBoard Box you may already have Whiteboard for Android installed.

ViewSonic ViewBoard:

  1. Turn the device on and swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Select Embd Player to switch to Android OS (if not already selected).
    1. Some models (IFP50-3) don't support swipe up. Instead, tap/click the side toolbar to change input to Android OS.
  2. Press the home button (physical button below the screen).
  3. Search the home screen and app tray for
    Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination
    Whiteboard for Android. ViewSonic ViewBoards come preinstalled with Whiteboard for Android.


myViewBoard Box:

  1. myViewBoard Box comes preinstalled with Whiteboard for Android.
  2. Tap/click the side toolbar and then the home icon.
  3. Whiteboard is pinned to the favorites tray by default, and can also be opened from the app tray (click the drop down arrow to view all apps in the app tray).


System requirements

  • Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher.
  • We recommend a minimum screen resolution of 1080p, as buttons may be difficult to see on smaller or lower resolution screens.
  • If using a mobile device, we recommend using a table with a screen size of 10-inches or above.


How to download and install Whiteboard for Android

To install the app via the Google Play store:

  1. Go to the Google Play store.
  2. Search for myViewBoard Whiteboard.
  3. Click Install.

Alternatively, you can use the following link to install Whiteboard for Android:

To download the APK file, go to myviewboard.com and click Resources > Downloads > Whiteboard for Android, or go directly to https://myviewboard.com/download/#Android. Once the file has downloaded, open it to install - you may need to grant permission to install apps from unknown sources.

Some Interactive Flat Panel displays have Whiteboard for Android installed by default. To launch Whiteboard for Android on these devices, click the side tool bar, and select the myViewBoard logo. Whiteboard for Android automatically starts.


Activate

  1. Open Whiteboard if not already open.
  2. Click Activate in the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Click User (Entity Admin is for IT or organization managers).
  4. Next, enter a name1 for this instance of the Whiteboard software and your email address twice and click Submit.
  5. Open the email and follow the link to activate the software.

Congratulations, you can now use Whiteboard!


1Note for admins: Whiteboard name here refers to the software instance name. This is not a user's myViewBoard name. It can be changed by administrators via Entity Management > Software Instances.
