myViewBoard Companion App Quick Start Guide
The myViewBoard Companion App provides a means to control various actions on the canvas using a mobile phone.

Sign up for a myViewBoard account
To get the most out of myViewBoard, users need to create a complimentary myViewBoard account at http://www.myviewboard.com. Note that myViewBoard for Windows can still be used without signing in. However, some features will be unavailable.
First select Sign Up from the top-right of the myViewBoard homepage.
On the next screen there are the following options to sign up:
Sign up with an existing Google, Apple or Microsoft account:
- Click one of the following:
- Sign in with Google
- Sign in with Microsoft
- Sign in with Apple
- On the next window, grant permission for myViewBoard to access the account.
Sign up using a regular email:
- On the myViewBoard sign up page, enter the following:
- Unique myViewBoard name
- Password
- Select the checkbox to comply with myViewBoard terms of service and privacy policy agreement.
- Click Sign Up.
After successfully signing-up:
- An activation email will be sent to the account. Click the link in the activation email.
- After activation, sign in and set up the new myViewBoard account.
- On first sign in, myViewBoard.com prompts the user to update the user's Personal Profile and Account Name.
Download and Install
Before installation, verify that the device meets the following requirements:
- Android devices must be running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher.
- Apple devices must be running iOS 9 or higher.
To install the app via the app store of your mobile device:
- Go to the Google Play or Apple Store app on your mobile device.
- Search for the myViewBoard Companion app.
- Click Install.

The myViewBoard.com web site also provides links to download the myViewBoard Companion app:
- Go to http://myViewBoard.com.
- Click Downloads.
- Depending on your device, click Companion on Google play or Companion on Apple Store link.
- Using a QR code reader app, take a picture of the QR code to get the download link.
- Open the download link to go to the correct download page of your device's app store.
- Click Install, and wait for the installation to complete.

Companion App User Interface Before Sign In
After installation, tap on the myViewBoard Companion app icon.
- Sign in to your myViewBoard account using the email address and password you provided during sign up.
- If you haven't signed up yet, click Sign Up to open the myViewBoard.com page where you can sign up for a new account.
If you signed up with a Google or Microsoft account and you need to use the Companion app, you need to create a separate sign in password:
- Go to http://myViewBoard.com, and sign in.
- Click your avatar, and click Change Password.
- Specify a password, and click Confirm.
- Afterwards, open the Companion app and sign in using the new password.
Companion App Top Bar
The Top Bar is available on every selected screen and provides following options:

Click to access Companion app settings.

Participation Screen
These options provide access to features related to interaction with other myViewBoard sessions. This is the default screen displayed when opening the companion app.
To access this screen, tap the following icon:

The Participation screen contains following icons:

This feature is available even without signing in.

This feature is available even without signing in.

After successful signin, the icon is hidden.
Throw
Sign in is not required to use the Throw feature. Before using these features, ensure that the target myViewBoard session is already active.
- Click the Throw icon.
- Select an image or video to throw.
- On the next screen, provide the Host Name and your name.
- Click the icon.
If successful, the myViewBoard host should receive a notification.
Using the Throw feature shows the following screens:
Installing the app also adds the Throw feature as a sharing option. To use on your mobile phone:
- On any app that is capable of performing the "share" action, click Share, or the icon if available.
- From the list of apps, select Companion.
- On the next screen, provide the Host Name.
- Click the icon.
Pop Quiz
Sign in is not required to use the Pop Quiz feature. Before using these features, ensure that the target myViewBoard session is already active.
- Click Pop Quiz icon.
- Use the available tools to answer a Pop Quiz:
FolderInserts images stored on the device.
To delete, drag the image on the screen to the trashcan icon.MoveIf enabled, indicates that any image or text on screen can be moved.Text toolClick to add typed text.
To delete, drag the text on the screen to the trashcan icon.EraserDeletes drawn lines.PenClick to draw an answer by hand.
To change the width, click the pen icon again.ColorChanges the active pen color.
- Click the icon.
- On the next screen, provide the Host Name and your name.
- Click again the icon.
If successful, the myViewBoard host should receive a notification.
Using the Pop Quiz feature shows the following screens:
Poll/Quiz
Sign in is not required to use the Pop Quiz feature. Before using these features, ensure that the target myViewBoard session is already active.
- Click Poll/Quiz icon
- Enter the Host name and your name (or choose from your History or Scan the name via QR code)
- Click join
- If the teacher didn't start yet, the following screen will appear :
- If the teacher already started the question, following screens will appear next :
- Click the icon to send your answer.
Sign in with QR Code
Use the QR code feature of the myViewBoard Companion app to sign in on the myViewBoard for Windows or Android program.
- Launch the myViewBoard Companion app on your mobile device.
- Sign in using an email address.
- Click the QR Code icon ( ) to open the phone's camera.
- Position the phone so that the QR code displayed on the myViewBoard for Windows or Android program is inside the QR 'scanner' of the myViewBoard Companion app.
Using the QR Code shows the following screens:
ViewBoard Control Screen
This screen contains options for managing ongoing myViewBoard sessions.
To access this screen, tap the following icon:

- The user is signed in to a myViewBoard session
- Another user is currently sharing/casting/presenting their screen to the myViewBoard session
Default management options:





Option when Laster Stroke is enable:
Wireless Presentation Screen
This screen contains options for managing the wireless presentation feature.
To access this screen, tap the following icon:

The following options are available:
Enable | Turns the wireless presentation feature on for the signed in account. After this is turned on, participants can send, cast or share their screen to the user's current myViewBoard session. |
Moderation | Displays a list of participants requesting access to cast/share/present their screen to the current myViewBoard session. Click on an entry to grant access. |
- The user is signed in to a myViewBoard session
- Another user is currently sharing/casting/presenting their screen to the myViewBoard session


myViewBoard Settings
The settings screen contains the following options for configuring myViewBoard:
User Avatar
Click on the username to open the myViewBoard account setting page.
FollowMe
The FollowMe opens the myViewBoard settings.

Throw History
The Throw History screen shows previously sent files. Click the to recall a file. Recalled files can no longer be inserted in the myViewBoard canvas.
Info
The information screen contains links to various myViewBoard resources:
This screen has the following options:
Rate our App | Open the Companion App Play store entry to rate the app. |
Follow on Twitter | Redirect to the myViewBoard Twitter page. |
Follow on LinkedIn | Redirect to the myViewBoard LinkedIn page. |
Follow on YouTube | Redirect to the myViewBoard YouTube page. |
Follow on Facebook | Redirect to the myViewBoard Facebook page. |
About | View the version number of the Companion App currently installed. |
Help | Redirect to the myViewBoard support web page. |
Privacy Policy | Redirect to the myViewBoard privacy policy web page. |
Entity Admin
The Entity Admin screen provides options to configure the entity account. Some options in this screen are available only for admin accounts.
The Entity Admin screen has the following options:
Select organization | Select the organization where the entity should belong to. |
Type ViewBoard name | Specify a name for the ViewBoard. Participants use this name to interact with your myViewBoard session. |
Select myViewBoard theme | Specify a theme that to be loaded for every myViewBoard session. |
Activate myViewBoard | Approves a myViewBoard for Android installation of an entity account. |
