Digital Whiteboard Training Guide

Digital Whiteboard is a web based collaborative whiteboard system.

Sign up for a myViewBoard account

To use Digital Whiteboard, users need to create a complimentary myViewBoard account at http://www.myviewboard.com.

myViewBoard provides the following options to sign up:

Integrate an existing Google or Microsoft account:

Click one of the following:
- Sign in with Google
- Sign in with Microsoft
On the next window, grant permission to myViewBoard to access the user's Google or Microsoft account.

Sign up using an email provider:

On the myViewBoard sign up page, fill up the following details:
- Unique myViewBoard name
- Email
- Password
Select the checkbox for EULA agreement.
Click Sign Up.

After successful sign-up, perform the following steps:

An activation email will be sent to the account. Activate the account by clicking the link in the activation email.
After activation, sign in and set up the new myViewBoard account.
On first sign in, myViewBoard.com prompts the user to update the user's Personal Profile and Account Name Setting.

Participating in a Digital Whiteboard Session

Once your Digital Whiteboard account is active, perform the following steps to participate in a Digital Whiteboard session:

To host a Digital Whiteboard session:

Sign in to https://myviewboard.com, and click on the 'Start a Digital Whiteboard session' icon.
Click on the upper right side to see your session ID. Click the session ID to see more sharing options.
The next window provides three options to join a Digital Whiteboard session:
- Login code - participants who are in the same room as the host
- QR code - best for users who are using mobile devices
- URL link - send through instant messaging.
Distribute the code to all participants, and wait for them to join the session using one of the options above.

Clicking the session ID displays more options to invite users to your session.

To join a Digital Whiteboard session:

Go to https://myviewboard.com and click on the 'Join a Digital Whiteboard session' icon. Signing in is not required.
On the new window, provide a name and a log in code. The log in code is the session ID provided by your Digital Whiteboard host.

Google Classroom Integration

Digital Whiteboard supports integration with Google Classroom. Integration allows you to associate a lesson you created with a specific Google Classroom class.

The following procedures assume that you already have an existing Google Classroom account set up.

To enable integration, bind your Google Classroom account with Digital Whiteboard first:

Go to the FollowMe AI tool.
Click Cloud Integration on the side menu.
Locate Google Classroom from the list, and click Authorize.
On the next screen, click Allow.

Afterwards, prepare your lesson on the Digital Whiteboard canvas. Binding associates the lesson with one of your Google Classroom classes, and creates a connection between the open lesson and the Google Classroom class. Use the Magic Box to bind the lesson to a Google Classroom:

On the main toolbar, click the Magic Box icon.
Click the Google Classroom logo.
Locate the classroom you want to bind with.
Click Bind.

Once complete, you need to provide a name for the lesson:

On the main toolbar, click the File Management icon.
Click the Save icon.
Click the Google Classroom logo.
Click Bind Google Classroom.
- If the lesson was not previously bound, Digital Whiteboard displays available Google Classrooms. Select one to bind.
- If the lesson was previously bound, specify a name for the lesson, then click Post to classroom.
  This automatically creates a post on the Google Classroom stream that your students can click to access the lesson.

Create a lesson, then bind your lesson to a Google Classroom.

When you are ready to present, open the Google Classroom from within Digital Whiteboard:

On the main toolbar, click the File Management icon.
Click the Open File icon.
Click the Google Classroom logo.
Select a Google Classroom.
Select a lesson to open.

Opening a saved Google Classroom performs the following:

The saved lesson is loaded onto the canvas.
The List in the side panel is automatically populated with students from your Google Classroom.
To invite more students, head over to the Google Classroom People tab.

Opening a Classroom automatically pulls in saved lessons and students in the class.

Digital Whiteboard Interface

After signing in, users are presented with a blank canvas. Digital Whiteboard provides the following options to manage the session:

Background Management
Opens options to change the canvas background.

Zoom
Adjust zoom options.

Huddle
Manage participants by placing them in groups.

Digital Whiteboard information
Displays details required to login to Digital Whiteboard session.

Help
Displays help for common Digital Whiteboard tasks and questions.

Info
Displays version details for Digital Whiteboard.

Gear
Settings that affect the current session.

Main Toolbar

The main toolbar contains tools that allow users to add annotations to the canvas area. This toolbar is always fixed to the right, left or bottom side of the program window. The appearance of icons in the toolbar vary depending on the selected theme.
